What was the raise 1 cent? Hell lets say it was 3 cents. That would amount to 250 a month. If 250 a month is going to make or break you after working there a year its time to find a new job. People like you, whom are going to whine and moan about every change a company makes to try and stay afloat in this economy need to be one of the ones who DO NOT have a job since you are obviously taking yours for granted.

There are people losing their homes because the jobs they worked at for DECADES closed down. There are homeless families who cannot eat because they cannot find a job. There are people far worse off then your measly 1 cent raise.

Sir, I am only 3 years older then you but I can safely say, even with my hatred of Schneider, grow up. You and I had life real easy the last 22 years, most of the crap we got was handed to us, we lived in a time of general prosperity and I think alot of us have a mentality that needs to change. Its not ME ME ME. The company isn't doing this to hurt you, they are doing this because they want to survive to be your employer in the future.

Didn't mommy and daddy ever tell you no, we cannot afford that right now because we want to be able to eat later? Same thing. That 300 million profit you are touting as a good reason is a dumb number to throw around, it shows you never ran a business.

That comes out to 25,000 a truck. 2083 a month a truck. You go omg thats alot that profit margin is mininmal per truck. Really it is. Breakdowns, fuel increases, cargo claims, paying drivers for layovers, paying dispatch and sales, paying for those nice OC's with the free wifi, warm tv lounge and discounted food, paying for maintence, maintaing DOT's MC/USDOT requirments, insurance, IFTA, all these things push that down.

If their profit margin last year, for the WHOLE year was a little over 2k a month per truck what do you think it is right now first quarter the way loads have been? Paying drivers whom are waiting for a load 100 dollars a day (now 65)?

In the words of "Our Savior Obama":biggrin_25514:(If your one of those Morons), "We all must begin to make the sacrifices, to make this country what it was". I don't care for the Prez, but that statement makes sense.

not sure what his sitch is, but for some drivers <.< >.> it was 5c at 6 months and 5 more cents at 1 yr, iirc.

so for a brand new driver it amounts to more like $250/wk (gross w/good miles) when the freeze gets lifted after a year.

"The only thing I do know is that in 2008 Schneider went from being a 3.4 billion dollar corporation to a 3.7 billion dollar corporation. That's 300 million dollars in profit!"

What a company grosses has nothing to do with how big their profit is. They do have potential for higher profits but just as much potential for higher losses. You can be a 3.7 billion dollar company and lose money.

Schneider may have some short-term debt or even real-estate debt that they need to renegotiate after the contract is up. These rates for these loans have gone way up and the loans are harder to get.

The purse strings are tightening and as a company driver you need to just eat it.

You should research your facts a little better before you make such accusations. SNI actually lost money, a lot of it, last quarter. Perhaps you'd rather they lay you off instead of covering the losses and keeping you on?
