Just wanting an update and see if things have picked up? I'm wanting a change of scenery and I thought about hauling crude for a while. I have experience in crude and I'm looking at Rocky Mountain Crude or Ally Energy. Any updates would be appreciated.

Is the main reason change of scenery or slow spot market freight? ))

Picked up a lot for my company in the last few weeks here in Carlsbad. Did 2500 last week and will break 3000 this week.

Thats not bad at all for a company man. I've applied at a couple of locations. I was thinking about making a drive out there next week.

I've seen a lot of companies coming in and undercutting each other for work. The long hauls that use to be very lucrative have gone down the toilet, so I would avoid most all of them. There was a run I was doing last year for $1750 that drivers are now doing for $650. Just insane!

That just looks to be an awfully tough way to scratch out a living to me.

I've been doing the oilfield thing for 7 years. It's great sometimes and other times it sucks. I just love driving out in rural areas and onto ranches and seeing all that stuff more than I would enjoy driving down vast stretches of interstate. But yes, there are definitely times when you question your choices!

Didn’t you do a thread awhile back and posted all your numbers?

I just think for the overall living conditions as well, I'd need to double what I make now.

Last time I went through there was pretty neat though. I mean it had to be like the gold rush or other form of boom. You could just feel it.

But the living conditions seemed more than a bit rough.

And the interstate seems to be going to hell in a hurry.

Everyone is in a big hurry too. Not a whole lot of courtesy.
