Repair rolled flatbed

    Recently purchased a 2006 East BST 48' all aluminum that had been flipped on its side. I know the 5th wheel plate is bent. Had a slight drop on the left front when looking from behind. Trailer tracks straight down the road. Would you just change out the plate and see how much that fixes it, or try to have it straightened? East has looked at it and says it can be straightened.

    After you look at all cross members for cracks, Let the pros straighten it out then put on new 5th wheel plate?

    Most likely the plate is held in that position by the frame. Meaning if you change the plate no changes to the twist/bend. If you’re anywhere near Dover, Oh take it to Ravens. I’ve had excellent service from them in the past.

    I forgot about Ravens. Not too far from them. I'll try to post a couple pics of it. I don't think it should be too hard to fix. Nothing damaged with the cross members, it's all on the outside rail. 20190513_084417.jpg 20190513_084431.jpg

    i would take a chance on the repaired trailer. it HAS to meet DOT standards, and repair guys are the pro's

    plus there is still a lot of value to that trailer, once it's fixed.

    what you will need to do (ethically speaking) is that when you go and sell it someday, to disclose that it was professionally repaired and keep all that paperwork.
