Seriously, this system is really a scam. It is a high pressure filtration system and will remove a lot of contamination from the fuel. As far as the amount of air removed from the liquid fuel is of questionable merit.

I don't know about a heavy duty application but these air separation systems are regarded to be quite beneficial, at least in the 4wheeler world.

These devices reduce cavitation at the injector nozzle, therefore prolonging injector life. I have heard claims of increased fuel economy and increased power, but doubt it's noticeable if so. We're talking, maybe 1-2mpg on a 2500 with a 6BT from what I recall. It's really all about preventing cavitation.

If I were going to install one, it wouldn't be the FASS system. The FASS system is a clone of the original AirDog system. The company was founded by the son of the inventor of AirDog after a falling out with his father.

The hot ticket right now is the Fuelab system. It's the only air separation system on the market that uses brushless motors and can do 200gph.

One has to wonder if the separation system is just providing a fuel system pressure boost. Possibly keeping rail pressures more stable in the process.
I can make almost any liquid look air free by placing the fluid under high pressure. While the liquid will not compress, the air would be compressed, thus eliminating the visible bubbles. The air has not been removed, it has been compressed into the liquid, think of a soda, you don’t see the carbonation until you release the stored pressure. One of the other things that makes no sense about these systems, they return the waste and contamination to the fuel tank. By returning this to the tank, you continue the cycle. Then what. At some point your going to have more trash than fuel. The only way to clear that would be a full drain of the tank.

Separating vapor/air from liquid requires a dwell time, the liquid needs to be still, so the vapor can decompress and escape/evaporate. You need a vessel that has head space to allow the vapor/air to do that.

The biggest fraudulent use of air time since War of the Worlds... At least Orson Welles was entertaining....

Just using a good quality set of filters will more than likely do the same. If i had to do my fuel supply system over again I would do a stand alone pump, with stand alone filter bases and quality filter elements. Im not even going to get into the filter quality debate, just saying do a little research and pick what is best for your application.

I have never used one myself, however I do know several people that bought and used the fuel preporator, before the fass came out and swore by them, especially on the N14 engines. Some of these have kept adding them as soon as they traded trucks, I know it isn't just because they like to throw away money.

    I have the FASS installed.
I didn't get it for any fuel mileage boost. Not sure how it really could increase the mpg.
I did get it for the extra filtration.
I believe the 2 filters get the fuel going to the injectors cleaner than the original single filter setup.
My N14 hasn't shown any mpg increase.

Can I say there IS a benefit. No.

According to the FASS site, the first filter is 144 micron. That’s a large particle. Consider most fuel and oil filters are 25 micron or less. Makes one wonder about how well it actually filters.

The first filter is like a pre-filter and it also does the water separation . the second is where the really fine filtration happens.
