So he maybe knew which lane to be, maybe he should have realized "wait a minute, this guy doesn't realize it's his lane that ends and I'd better get out of the way before I get run over." I guess I have a different idea of defensive. There's very little traffic and you are staying neck and neck with another truck. Hardly anyone around and you choose to not have an out. That makes no sense to me at any time let alone when you know there's a lane closure coming up.
