I would not suspect an electrical issue with the faults you have provided. Was the fuel injector reset performed in Insite when the injectors were replaced? Has a injector performance test been run with pass results? Has the rail decay been checked?

The only other issue is a return restriction back to the tanks on the injector return. This may test good in the shop bay as it seems like you always have issues on the road and running under load for a while.

What are the miles on engine right now?
My guess is your over 500,000 miles?

The CM2250 is notorious for dropping number 5, or 6 cylinder liner from carbon build up.

What do you mean bottom end was gone over , when fuel pump blew?
Many times with a cm2250 when the fuel pump blows the engine needs an inflame.

His current fuel issues have nothing to do with a dropped liner. Completely different.

    spsauerland Thanks this.

These tests were done after injectors were replaced and problems were still showing. Checked for air in fuel also, when they tried to do the last injector performance test, he kept getting a 1911 fuel restriction code, pressure relief valve was tested- pass, tanks, lines, filters were checked or replaced, like I said in the beginning, they are scratching their heads or their peanuts trying to figure it out. It is the big shop along the freeway near the Pilot truckstop in Hesperia CA, a very reputable shop

I would suggest installing a gauge on the drain line from the injector leak back to check for pressure.

    Was there any rail decay?

They said there was no fuel decay, if that's what you mean, hoping to get a load back near the house to let them dig a little more. Also have an open ticket with Cummins Tech Support. They are wanting an Insite to be hooked up to truck and driven untill fault returns

Also, after truck is cleared of codes, it will run strong, then it will hesitate or go dead pedal for a second or two, sometimes up to 5 seconds, which temporarily triggers yellow light on tach. This will also happen when cruise control is being used which rules out TPS

Update, transfer pump replaced, fuel pressure relief valve changed, fuel pressure sensor replaced, fuel lines replaced, injectors are being removed for inspection. Cummins Tier 3 Diagnostic technician at a loss as to why truck continues to have erratic fuel pressure. Truck has had test pump head installed in place of new, truck has had test ECM used to rule out ECM, truck has been run on isolated fuel source to rule out supply issues from tanks. It is getting to the point of having to remove radiator cap and replacing truck underneath it. I feel that the biggest part of the problem is the lack of concern by Cummins to isolate and resolve the problem at their expense. I have spent over 16k on this issue that remains unsolved, and all the repairs on this truck have been performed by licensed/ certified Cummins repair facilities.
