This is my 1st post here so I hope I am doing this right. I got the "scr performance low, repair needed 5mph limit at next vehicle stop". Codes we're 4094 fmi 18 and 5246 fmi 16. Took it into the shop and they drove it while connected to computer and said it was throwing out waaaay high nox value 300 ppm at idle 750+ when climbing with empty trailer. They found my egr valve to be bad. I paid and drove it 17 miles and same codes came on. After 2 days of diagnostics they came to the conclusion I needed injectors, cups, dpf cleaned and doc serviced. Paid and drove 300 miles same #### lights and codes now they are saying I have a hole in the bottom of my dpf filter housing and that is the reason it is throwing high nox and not doing a regen. 2013 Mack cxu613 mp7 engine. Does this sound like the problem to anybody? I am currently 11k in and don't want to spend another 5k if this sounds like bs

It is possible. Why did they not catch it the first go around? Part of a DPF inspection is to check for any exhaust leaks as they will cause sustem to burn too cool.

I’m not familiar with a Mack, but when they cleaned your DPF’s and serviced the DOC they should have found the hole. It is one of the standard checks before cleaning them.
Next, if your truck had a Detroit and it threw a SCR efficiency Low code, I would have changed the Nox Sensors before doing anything else. Together they usually less than $500.
Like I said I don’t know Mack, But I know Freightliners and if they where changing that stuff first for a SCR code....... My guess is they are too dumb to know what’s going on or worse yet, they do and they are just checking to see how deep your pockets WERE!!!

when injectors overfuel and egr valve malfunctions more soot goes to DPFs. During regen more heat comes out from DPFs. It causes SCR overheating/toasting . If temp value goes more than 1400F the SCR will throw low nox conversion codes . Sometimes this code will start popping up after 1 or 2 months
