Really? So what all do they charge for? Intrastate is 60-65 a year. Only thing extra I pay for.

carb certificate is good for one year. it expires on dec 31th every year. you need to report every year and get new certificate.

Yeah, the one I have is a factory certification on file with the State. I'm not in CA enough to worry about it too be honest with you.

As long as you meet the model year schedule you don't really have to file. But you might run into a problem with some brokers. I register all that are legal because it only takes a few minutes and our customers want it on file with them. They are the ones that can be fined for loading an "illegal" truck/trailer.

    +1.
I pull Schneider brokerage loads to Cali from Midwest. Every year in January they want current carb certificate.

Yeah, none of the brokers that have asked me for a CARB compliance cert have turned me away when I send them the model year schedule from Volvo that is on file with the State. I always forward a copy of a photo of my truck and dry van trailer which clearly shows I have the side skirts on the trailer.

When we broker loads into/out of CA, we want carb cert or copy of registration and arb# or unit info. If it doesn't match with what shows up at the shipper it isn't loaded.

this is carb certificate. its issued to company/fleet (TRUCRS ID) and not to equipment. You may have legal equipment and may not to have carb certificate, 2019Cert.jpg because you have not reported it to carb. its possible to check fleet's carb certificate by entering usdot or ca# on carb website.

    On-Road Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles (In-Use) Regulation

Who Needs to Report for the 2019 Compliance Year?

Vehicles in Compliance with the Engine Model Year Schedule do not need to report. Fleet owners of vehicles using mileage-based options must report the vehicles end of the year odometer reading annually and update the compliance path if they wish to continue using the option for the following compliance year.

It they registered you can search by tag/vin# for a specific vehicle/unit.
