As long as you meet the model year schedule you don't really have to file. But you might run into a problem with some brokers. I register all that are legal because it only takes a few minutes and our customers want it on file with them. They are the ones that can be fined for loading an "illegal" truck/trailer.
PE_T and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
I pull Schneider brokerage loads to Cali from Midwest. Every year in January they want current carb certificate.PE_T and interested in engine Thank this. -

When we broker loads into/out of CA, we want carb cert or copy of registration and arb# or unit info. If it doesn't match with what shows up at the shipper it isn't loaded.
-
this is carb certificate. its issued to company/fleet (TRUCRS ID) and not to equipment. You may have legal equipment and may not to have carb certificate, because you have not reported it to carb. its possible to check fleet's carb certificate by entering usdot or ca# on carb website.
interested in engine, PE_T and LoneRanger Thank this. -
