Expanding the fleet

After having worked on the inside for a year, any aspirations I ever had of building a fleet went right out the window! LOL

Watching the owner (fleet of 150 trucks) with a red, stressed and troubled face most of the time, cured me. Not only that, most (not all) of the drivers I had to deal with on a daily basis were, let's just say, not the sharpest knives in the drawer, or were a royal pain in the arse

 

Wow, sounds like he needs to make some changes. Hope he is able to hang on this year. Between much lower rates, likely for him higher insurance, and the rebuilds sounds worrisome.

 

Bigger isn't always better. There's been some great advice in this thread.
I've known some guys who decided to be fleet owners without stopping to think about all things the guys have talked about here. Every single one of them wound up selling off everything they could and going back to driving their own truck or driving for somebody else. They also wound up in the hole financially.
LOL...If your phone rings at night between seven pm and seven the next morning you'll get so that you're afraid to answer. Its always bad news. Don't ask how I know this.
