i run 9' of ASTATIC rg8-x with trimmed wilson antenna. My radio gets out and is insanely clear to other drivers.
run 18' if you want but thats a mess to coil up. And that 18' rule is an age old myth that has been debunked several times. no advantage to itrabbiporkchop and Finfn1372 Thank this. -
You won't change that "coax length" bull****. Its been part of CB since 1958. It is the zombie myth that will never die! Wanna mess with the "coax length" gurus' minds? Introduce them to
a length of 450 ohm Ladder Line. It will blow 'em away

dam i cant tell if you are angry at me or yelling at me. or both.
run 9' of rg8-x and thank me later. but being since you option seems to be 18' length for 20 bucks, go ahead and grab it and coil it up if you have room to stuff it behind dash somewhere -
18 feet because the electrons in the pennies and nickles you spend will not allow any other length to be purchased.rabbiporkchop and QuietStorm Thank this.

I run twin lead on my HF Rig, did know it was bad.
Finfn1372 Thanks this. -
What about 90° vs 180° of cable with a 35 ohm resonant antenna?
rg58 is fine. Try to achieve 50 ohms with zero reactance and then the length won't matter.
Good luck!
