Next Airshow you see advertised at Mountain Home, you oughtta go. Not always, but usually they let you go up in the planes and check em out but it depends on what aircraft too. Some of them you can just walk around the outside. The 52's are pretty cramped up in the ####pit, not much room for more than 2 or 3 people. There's usually a pretty good line but it's worth it. Here's the ####pit on a B-52, Googled it. If your curious about this stuff Google is your friend, you can look at just about anything and even watch video's of take offs and landings from the ####pit of just about any airplane, military or civilian, it's pretty cool.
Turn on your volume:
The beginning of this video is from the ####pit of a KC-135 and then the boom operators perspective. This is one of the planes I flew on and was a mechanic on. Watched a bunch of aireal refuels with a bunch of different type aircraft from back there.
Here's a C-5 going up to a KC-135. I've been on a C-5 and seen it from this perspective too.
When I flew on C-5's and 135's I went to a few airshows and we were one of the static displays. I really enjoyed showing folks and explaining all about the aircraft. You ever get a chance to talk to an aircrew member ask questions, they enjoy it and that's what they're there for, after all, your paying for it and them

Shoot, that’ll be better than new when you’re done.
Looks like engine and running gear are in? Tub and front clip are on, obviously, so just odds and ends left?
Can’t wait to see that done. I’m a sucker for an old Jeep.7-UP, Westbound23, Tug Toy and 16 others Thank this. -

Had to make a trip to SLC for an airbag and leveling valve. And had to leave @Logan76 in the pickup so he doesn't reach over the counter and throttle the parts guy.
Gonna have to go find him a coffee soon or he's gonna get cranky.PoleCrusher, 7-UP, Westbound23 and 24 others Thank this. -
They just added some new planes to the display up here at Castle air Base(closed). but has a museum of a SR-71A and many more.

I started with nothing not a dime.
In 88 I was making $800 a month at my dream job as a state park ranger , but I was starving at that salary, I couldnt even afford to get the phone turned on in my $165 a month singlewide in a cow pasture I was renting
I saw an ad for a rent to own with North American Van Lines Triple Crown RoadRailer division ,
so I bought a one way plane ticket to Ft Wayne and a week later came back with a used international cabover with no power steering and starter putting $1200-1600 a week in my pocket.
quite the change from $200 a week at the state park.
At one point I had 4 trucks and three drivers, If I had stayed just with one truck, I might still be driving, but I sold em and got a regular job when we decided to have kids.PoleCrusher, 7-UP, Westbound23 and 18 others Thank this.
