Why! Back when I started, we had a B61 Thermodyne, 39000 would make it do 13 MPH up La Veta Pass and then you had to get down. That was the frightening part, we'd pickup potatoes or beans and come back. What a ride. No Jakes, Just smokin brakes.

What's going to hapen when he gets to LA and they give him a heavy load to Denver ?

I don't think as a company I'd let him go down I70 into Denver with a good load on. Not with his limited experience anyway. That's not a grade I'd want a new driver to be trained on. I don't think coming in the back way through AZ,NM, is much further than I15, I70. -
I am glag you guys agreed with the route I suggested. I would like to see a post on how his trip went.
