It's not a question of being negative it's just a question of being realistic. The guy that spent the least amount of money to accomplish the same result was a smarter consumer and I like to point that out so other people can learn from his experience.

I thought a radio that has some distortion at 7,999 hertz is a splatter box, unless you pay big bucks to mr. fine tune to fix it. If you have any distortion your radio can’t talk very far, let alone work skip. At least that’s what you’ve been telling JF.

 

Lincoln 2+ is a good radio, no doubt about it. Get a lot for the money including a good brands name I personally like the anytone 6666 most. Both can get a little help on AM (and FM, btw), but they sound quite good out of the box. The Anytone is great when it comes to small mounting environment.
