I dunno. They pulled it all apart and did again at no extra cost. And still didn't fix it. I took it to the other place and they looked at it saying nothing looked wrong. We could re-do your king pins and I left aggravated driving it as was for a while.
That's great you got 2 million out of yours. I'm at 1.5 million and on the 3rd set. Grease them every 6,000 miles too. Wtf is what I'm thinking how does that happen??? And I've been wasting 5 minutes of my life raising up the front end all for nothing. And I'm still going to keep doing it my way too.
Need new king pins

Can you heat the axle if the Kingpin is stuck?
snowman_w900 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
It's not recommended, but some people do. Alot of suspension shops wont because of liability issues. Using a king press is honestly the best way to do it because heating the axle beam eye can weaken or distort the axle eye.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I dont have one these bad boys, but if I did more front end work I would like to have one. I've seen some homemade ones that work great too. These are a bit pricey, but they will get even the most stubborn pins out.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Easyrider on u- tube has a great king pin video, better than the Manufacturers. I’m hoping I don’t need the Axle Surgeons. After a bad seal replacement job, about 7 yrs ago, my bearing seized up on the spindle. New spindle had bushings installed already. Old ones looked like new. The problem is the mechanic re-used the shims,we could have used one more.Everything was closed. So it had up and down play. And it’s gotten worse. My fault for not getting fixed right away. The left side has a very little play. Feels like end play. Truth be, I’ve probably needed new king pins for years. Next on the list, after clutch and rear cover. It’s a looooong list. Lol

A little up and down play is normal. Supposed to have a little. Off the top of my head, i cant think of what the specs are for the up and down specs. a big then to look for is if your brake chamber moves when jacking truck up with your air jack. I always keep an eye on that becuase its the easiest thing to see. If that moves than, you have side to side play and its timeRideandrepair Thanks this. -
I’ll use a bottle jack and chain if needed.Hopefully it will be like the right side was, it just fell out.Lol. A little loose... maybe? But bushings were like new.
