Mount St. Helens isn't that far away either. That sucker left ash in SLC, UT when it blew.

Rainer. When that one goes Seattle is screwed. My wife’s family lives a fair distance from it and they still worry.

When Mt St Helens erupted I was living in Vancouver WA that is why I kind of have a fascination with volcanoes. It kind of left an impression on me.lovesthedrive, tramm01, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

Me too, I was 750 miles or so away from it. One of the major events to count on your hand to remember, like the NASA Challenger, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, 911...lovesthedrive, tramm01, InTooDeep and 1 other person Thank this.

The assasination and funeral of John F Kennedy. First big memory of my life. Remember it vividly. Everybody cried for President Kennedy. Everybody. I’ve asked around this country. Everyone says the same. I’m same age as John John. Remember him saluting. Thinking: He lost his daddy.
If you ever get a chance. The secret service agent who jumped on the back of the limo. He wrote several books. Fascinating. He’ll cause you to fall in love with Jackie.skellr, tramm01, otterinthewater and 1 other person Thank this. -
So crossing Donner yesterday (WB) a CFL truck folded his self into his trailer. Wasn't snowing but was hailing. Nice long backup. Then 300 yds after that some jackwad blew his clutch I mean blew it clutch plate was laying in the road along with tons of shrapnel all over including a nice river of gear oil 10 ft, wide and across both lanes. How does one F up a clutch trans that bad. The corner right after that was a excersie in trying not to spin out because of oil soaked tires plus water. Found out they shut the road right after I went through. Lucky for me because the routed everyone down Hwy 20. That is one lousy drive when all traffic goes that way.
Dave_in_AZ, tramm01, tucker and 1 other person Thank this.
