What's up guys. I'm new to the site and to trucking. I just bought a 1993 W900L with a 3406 C cat in it. I've been fixing problems as they arrise, but I dont' know a lot about the truck or trucks in general. I have found that trucks are like great big snowmobiles. Drive it for a few hours then spend a few hours working on it! LOL! Anyway My motor only builds 15lbs of boost. Is that normal? I drove a signature 600 cummins the other day and it built 30 lbs of boost at half throttle!!!!! Just wondering. Thanks guys!

No, 15lbs is less than stock. You most likely have an air-air leak or the diaphram is blown out. You should pull 18-21lbs of boost. You also can't compair different motors when it comes to boost.

Thanks guys. I've actually got an appointment at the cat dealer here shortly. I've got a huge oil leak comming from the front of the motor. I can't tell exactly where it's comming from but it's running down the front of the motor, and down behind the air compressor. I'm sure it will be at least a 2k bill by the time they are done! LOL!
