They skipped the part where throwing the chains is a time consuming pain, but otherwise I concur. It's driving like normal, just a bit slower

I delivered in Richmond, VA deadheaded 190 miles, and got loaded Thursday in Havre de Grace, MD. Tight place to turn around and back! It took all of 3 minutes to get loaded and the bills signed. 3 pallets 1440 lbs. 1460 miles later, I made it to Grand Forks, drop and hook to an empty, and met a new female driver. I ve noticed an increase of female drivers lately, they all seem very friendly and chatted with them for a few minutes getting to know them and so forth.
After I chatted, I hooked up to my empty and made it down to Fargo to do a reset since I pick up Monday in West Fargo at 10am, and go back to Freightliner to fix the warranty parts. Then I will I will be on my 2 stop 2,070 mile trip to Pompano Beach, FL for Thursday.
It was pretty treacherous at times with 1440 lbs and 30 mph plus wind gusts in MN and ND, and dead heading back down to Fargo. I thought to myself its almost June, and it was snowing in western ND, and the temperatures were upper 30s and low 40s with wind, hail, and rainLDYTRUCKER Thanks this. -

Finally got a chance to post. Last week I was non stop literally. My last post I was in West Fargo picking up for Florida. Here s a recap of my runs from last weekend.
Richmond, VA-Havre de Grace, MD- Grand Forks, ND- West Fargo, ND 1730 miles
34 Hr Reset
West Fargo, ND -Anniston, AL- Pompano Beach, FL 2072 miles
Pompano Beach, FL to Anniston, AL 720 miles
Anniston, AL- Gainesville, GA- Anniston, AL 300 miles
Now I m on Anniston, AL - Tanner, AL- East Syracuse, NY 1075 miles. Now I m at the Waterloo, NY Petro doing a reset.
I was hoping to go home after I got back to Anniston from Pompano Beach, but the phone rings." Hey we need you to go to Gainesville and pick up a load." Now keep in mind its a holiday weekend and having to go through Atlanta. As you could imagine, I raised hell about having to do that run, when you have local drivers in Anniston that could ve done that load. I just shook my head and said F it and told them since I couldn t go home, do not call or ask me to do anything else for S&S.
So since I couldn t get through the house for some time off, I became a ######## and put in time off request and for return date, I put until I feel like coming back. I mean being out 2 months BY CHOICE and can t get time off when I asked in advance? I mean I live 18 miles from our biggest customer, its not like its a lot of out of route miles. It may have cost $6 in fuel to let me go home, but noMetallica88, Lonesome and LDYTRUCKER Thank this. -
I hear you are not the only one having issues getting home. I put in my time off request to go see my new foal next week. Hopefully that happens. I'm getting burned out a little. I'm not complaining because they keep me running, but I'm having issues sleeping through my alarm for 3 hours the past few mornings.
I dont blame you for putting your foot down. We need our home time to decompress. I wonder why it seems so many people are having issues getting home right now. They have always been stellar with it!bigkev1115 Thanks this. -
I ve told them its more than miles and money. I guess they re trying to run me and pay off this new truck real quickLDYTRUCKER Thanks this. -
I just wanted to update everyone about a recent experience. It has nothing to do with mileage (still great), but something far more important. This is what I posted on their Facebook page:
"I felt I really needed to say something about the type of company S&S Transport is. I have been sitting in Fargo since yesterday because I had to take my best friend and road cat, Mama, to the emergency vet clinic. Throughout this whole upsetting and stressful process, not once have I been made to feel like my companion was "just an animal". They have worked with me with time off, getting me back on the road when I am ready, and have not once tried to push me to bandaid her up to get back to work. They have let me cry, they have talked me through it, and they have given nothing but 100% support. Mama and I are profoundly grateful that this is a company that cares about their drivers, and we respect and adore each and every employee for treating us well. She is on the road to recovery. Thank you everyone at S&S Transport for being compassionate human beings."
There aren't enough words to describe how happy and grateful i feel for this company right now.Metallica88, Lonesome, dwells40 and 4 others Thank this. -

LDYTRUCKER Thanks this. -
All we can do at this point is have her on medications and see how she responds over time. She is comfortable right now after being hospitalized last night, eating, rehydrated, and alert, that's all I can ask for.Lonesome Thanks this. -
