It's possible that the Driver hadn't seen it yet ? If it had been turned around the air might not have caught it the same way and not have released the holding latch ? I doubt that he wanted to be rolling down the road like that. It might have just happened.
You're correct. It certainly isn't safe. He's probably over 13' 6" like that.
The point about it ripping loose is also what would worry me.
I would like to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. That said, there's a lot of stupidity running around in the world. It's not like I have a monopoly on the stuff, no matter what @4mer trucker tells you guys.

 

Stopped for breakfast at Cash's Truck Plaza on the west side of Baton Rouge. I ordered pancakes with my breakfast and asked for plenty of butter with them. She brought this out and set it in front of me .......with a smirk.

She's on track for a good tip, lol.

 

Some times the latch pops loose will you’re rolling. I pull over and close it. Don’t want the wind to crack the fiberglass
