Anyone have any info about KC transport out of MI. Anyone work for them or know someone that does?Any info would be great. Also, I am looking for a spread sheet that one of you owner ops may have to calculate rates or the cost to run a truck. I am sure Brickman has one maybe he will see this and respond. I hope you all have a great and SAFE holiday weekend.

KC Transport, Carlton, MI (Monroe County). 309 drivers, 288 trucks. Union company but through the UAW, not the teamsters. pretty high driver out of service rate, but vehicle out of service rate is pretty low. They must keep their equipment up or so it appears. Last FMCSA compliance review (internal audit) was April, 1996. Many, many, many speeding tickets (well over 125 in the last 30-months and that's just the ones that were caught) to drivers. Almost all of the driver out of service was for 11 & 14 hour violations and false logs. This could indicate low pay because the drivers are doing more than what is legal.

if they are UAW then they are hauling auto parts which is a GO GO GO siuation.

Before I retired I was stationed in MI and lived in Monroe County. I had a neighbor who worked for them & was the local union steward. Dumber than dog ##### (do do). They used to work him to death then he'd want me to get him out of trouble when he received a citation or an out of service order. I told him to go to the union if he couldn't understand his responsibility toward the rules. He was evicted from the house by the owner & then he and his wife really trashed that place when they received the notice.firecaptain1204 Thanks this.

auto parts all run you to death. its go all the time. No stoping for weather. Wht's that, A huricane? just push through it! blizard? nonesense cant shut down the line. What? your loads 5 hours late loading? better run faster
I'm not kidding, that's how it is. A few years agomyself and the whole state of WY was shut down for two days and I watched the auto haulers sneaking around trying t run the backroads. I'm no panzy when it comes to snow storms but that one was crazy -
I know I have hauled auto parts for some time, but you know today is not like it was 5 or 10 years ago. All the auto makers have slowed down a bit. I am not going to run in unsafe conditions or run over hours or run tired. You know if you need 10 minutes or 30 minutes over to finish something thats one thing ( don't make it right) but you know hours over NO THANKS..
