I can see some tech saying the Cobra's natural potential is 35 watts, and just give him 75 bucks and he'll unleash that potential for you!
I doubt the designer or manufacturer of the radio and its components would agree.
Nor the guys who have to listen to the loud, bleeding-over scramble that comes out.

Well then I guess the engineers are incompentent if the bias voltage isnt set correctly from the asian factory, sad, a cb seems to be the only thing bought that doesnt work right out of box, you can buy a washer and dryer, a fridge, microwave, smartphone, leaf blower, instapot, and so on and they work fine.

Now now now rabbi, don't confuse the issue with thing that are ....

He is so brainwashed by the all and mighty cb wizard.popoka Thanks this.

Ears trump Voice.
Biggest change for any CB or Export radio is digital noise filtration (as found in Amateur equipment).
As an add-on module between radio and speaker or as a self-contained unit.
I have and highly recommend the latter:
WEST MOUNTAIN RADIO CLEARSPEAKER
$199
You’ll hear what was impossible to detect before. That is, your radio is better than you realize.
Doesn’t forego the need to chase down noise in coax or power lines or vehicle, etc, but is the biggest jump in performance one will experience.
Not eliminated, but now one can hear “around” the interference.
One can much more often run RF GAIN and SQUELCH wide open. -
.....and Chinese-made Bose speakers and headphones sound great right out of the box

Not brainwashed I just look at the big picture instead of focusing on something small. Most people that think that they can make improvements to a factory alignment always end up with less performance after they're done.

Static is normal on AM. Jump in your vehicle and switch the stereo to AM, static everywhere until you receive a strong enough signal to get over it.
If you hear noise when you rev the engine ,then that's a different story.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Look rabbi, a few of us know mark or watched his videos when we wanted to be entertained.
with that said I agree with you 100% that most "people" think they can improve the receiver alignment and almost always end up with a screwed up receive.
But don't think that the talent in the radio world can't live up to our cb gods gift to mankind because there are a bunch out there that can do a lot better job.Timin770 Thanks this. -
Or the same for a reasonable price.
Not the $300 radio with the $500 Super Whack Pack “upgrade”.
