What do you do when you get no power to the plug itself. As in I put a test light to it and no cigar... I also tried the paperclip truck still nothing.

If this is the case @snowwy am I low on Freon? It kicked on with the paperclip. It was ice cold then guy tore front structure down and it has not been as cold since then quit today... Suggestions?

Put gauges on it and check pressures.

I'm talking actual gauges and not that cheap can crap.

It could be low on freon. Or too much.

Or some other problem if the pressures don't read right.

Expansion valve or compressor. For instance.

If a paper clip kicks it on. It's either a bad switch or not enough freon. It needs at least 50 psi to kick on but that's not enough to blow cold.

Always want to check pressure first. Before diagnosing electrical. Using a paper clip could blow the compressor if there's nothing in the system.

I see a lot of posts trying to diagnose electrical with no clue on freon level. Some will say it's fully charged when it fact. They don't have enough or have too much.

Some will buy a 12 oz. Can and throw the whole thing in. And now they're 10 oz. OVERcharged.

I took it back out bc I was worried about burning up the compressor.

Thanks for the reply. I was just trying to get a general direction before I started chasing.

I'm having the same issue, the system is full but can not get compressor to come on unless I jumper it from the relay, no power to the pressure switch or the compressor, I've tried to swap out the control panel with a known good part with no change, it seems like I am missing signal to the relay from the control panel?

From what I've seen on the last kw I drove.

The switch sends power to the relay which goes to the components.

But. There's a bcm tied in somehow also.

Well I’ve done this my ac clutch kicks in when I put battery power to it, it was low on Freon so I tried filling up the system but it says charging has slowed so tells me to fire up truck and max ac so when I do that it still doesn’t work cuz my clutch isn’t kicking in!

Can my truck not have a low pressure switch? If it does I can’t find it following the thick line
