Mr. Mays let us off that morning and the day started like just any other, until my best Freind Andy yelled at me and told me my cousin April just got killed. I had to ask 3 times because of disbelief, what are you talking about?!! April was last off the bus, and the rest of us had ran in the building.... this was elementary days. When it all came into focus I realized what was going on, witnesses said April was running along side the bus then just fell..... fell off the curb and right into the path of the dual wheels on that Gullwing International bus. They had pictures of her at the funeral home since nothing was the way it should be. (Back to my story)...
I got the Rig stopped, throwed the hazard lights on and grabbed my flashlight, I looked everywhere and could not him, then it dawned on me..... Lord he’s wedged between the steering axle and the engine!! No, no he wasn’t there neither. I never found him or the bike, no blood, no internals, nothing! At that point I had to face the truth..... my mind was starting to hallucinate, it was the only explanation. I looked once more but found nothing, and once I was certain he never was there, I continued down the road with my heart pounding like a jackhammer. Ya see I was almost at that point today, I knew it was time, time to shut it down before I got to that point. Ever watch the movie Black Dog? Yes I’m a believer, for a reason. Be safe out there everybody, know when to say when......,

After the investigation of my cousins death it was revealed what happened.... I think of @shogun & @Humblepie and others when they speak of their daughters, see I have a daughter too as well as 3 granddaughters, and my mind never stops thinking about their safety. My Cousin April had worn her dads zip up hoodie that day with the draw string in the bottom. Those drawstrings have a knot in each end for a reason, simply so they won’t come out. April was petite and real skinny, that hoodie was 5 times to big for her, but it was her dads and she loved him. Apparently she had been playing with that string and it was pulled mostly to one end, making one of the knots drag on the ground trailing behind her....... where it also got pinched in the doors of the bus!! Neither knot would come loose as the bus accelerated away with April running along side screaming....... that was her last day with us.

We can never be to safe......

We all can get along here. We're just a group that has a bunch of testosterone and rib each other a little too hard sometimes. Every group has friction somewhere. But this group has more cohesiveness than most.
Please reconsider.

We should all quit bringing it up in conversation. There are other schisms here that are changing for the better. This one can too, if you allow it too. Just give it some more time and allow the rest of us the opportunity to quit egging it on. I believe that the group will do that if given the chance.

I’ve always prided myself on being able to run hard, but also for knowing when to say when. No shame in parking that sucker and taking a nap. That load will get there when it gets there.
