I got this thing from conway truckload and was wanting some info about it.
It says that for one no doubles period...that i can run dedicated with anextra .5 cents per mile for NE states.
Your choice of loads at terminals.
Pratical miles and that you get paid at the beginning of the load.
Safet bonuses and a rider program.
If anyone has any information to tell me whether this is true how many miles you average or anything about the company it sure would be helpful. Thanks

you got "this thing?" could you be a little more specific?

choice of loads? no - they have forced dispatch - 48 states + canada.

extra 5CPM bonus for N.E. bonus pay? yes - although I'm not sure how they define "N.E."

get paid at the beginning of a load? no trucking company on the planet does that!

that's the info I received from the "thing" they sent me.

Forced dispatch for sure, and Hazmat and Canada for new people. I have 120 days to get my Hazmat.

As for the 5cpm NE, I got a load from Gary IN to PA, it was 589 miles. I got a bonus for 211 miles of that, a whopping $10.55 .. so it's not the whole run, just when you're in that NE area .. as they define it. I'll ask about that.

We do get paid on dispatch, so if you get dispatched by 11:59pm Sat (pay period ends/starts at midnight Sat night) then it is on that weeks check. But of course you don't see that check until the following Fri .. so kinda yes and no ...

So far I like them but it is my first driving job ....

The do pay better than other starter jobs I think. I got $400 for my week of orientation, 26 cpm during my 3 weeks with trainer (got 3000 per week) and started at 29 cpm (was 30 but I have my dog and they deduct 1 cpm until I prove my fuel mpg). I'm getting about 2000 per week but it's only been a few weeks.

It's a good job, they have lots of rules, they are up front about them .. or were to me at least.

Good luck Tinman with Con Way/CFI. Hope they treat everyone fairly decent and do they have any terminals in the N.E.?:biggrin_25519:

Everything is true except the dedicated part, that depends on where you live, and to my knowledge all dedicated runs go to teams.

Another good thing about CWTL is I have never experienced a "dead freight" area.

I am kinda curious about CWTL too. I talked to a guy about a month ago in recruiting. He told me they would have to "verify" my OTR experience. I drove OTR for 10.5 years, but the last 1.5 years I was a local gas hauler. I live in Columbus, Ohio and have heard they have an orientation here. I know I saw a couple CWTL trucks at the Con Way LTL terminal on the west side. They told me $300 for me to take my dog, taken $50 a week until it's paid in full. Not the $.01 cpm. That sounds a little excessive.

I have had a lot of companies tell me they have nothing for me. It seems almost unbelievable. Here I am, 12 years driving. The forementioned OTR and local time. Done everything from van to reefer to gas tanker. And I can't seem to find a job? I have 2 speeding tickets, but I let companies know right up front and companies I have talked to say that wasn't why they didn't take me. They always say they either already filled a spot, or they are not hiring in my area. I don't know what to think anymore.

So I am looking into CWTL also and would like to know as much as possible.

I saw the same thing some where too...I read alot of different company policies and rules and this company has the most for a driver. That is my opinion.
