I tell the truth about May or any other company. I worked there for 5 yrs. Saw them go from a good company that only hired experienced drivers. To a company that rivals Swift in stupidity. They are now just another training company with Disp. that are nothing more then glorified baby sitters running fleets full of wannabes and steering wheel holders. No good Exp. driver should want anything to do with them.

When did they start running volvos i saw a couple in the past week or 2 on my way to work. They look like theire older volvos.
-
They don't run them any more. They quite buying them 3yrs ago. Any you see now are O/O.
-
RickG....I will assure you that they dont push drivers and you most certainly better not get caught running an illeagal log. They have to many ways to check you with the qualcomm.
BigBlu....once again the key to your statement is the word "I" refering to "You" and "Your" opinion of good and bad. I disagree with you, so lets just leave it at that. -
Have you been by their yard in Yolo Ca lately? You know that one that turns into a mud bog every time it rains? I went by there a few days ago and it was chalk full of mty trailers. So was the one in Brooks. Doubt there is much illegal loging going down on the west coast these says with all the mtys clogging the yards
As far as loging legal? That would assume that they had enough miles to make it a temptation to not run legal. Trust me people. The majority of May drivers will have no trouble loging legal. Heck they will be begging for miles in most cases.
I will also agree they do not push the drivers to run illegal. But if you can't get er done when they do finally find you a load, your qualcomm will need frequent dusting if you know what I mean.
They are no different then most OTR carriers. If you are a go to driver or got the knee pads on they care not about your log as long as you turn in a neat log book. Make waves, then they start doing things to limit income. -
I have to agree with Bigblue, As long as your logs are neat. I.E miles match hrs + fuel + pretrip times make logical sence you'll be fine. the key to getting miles right now or even getting your pay correct, is a good D.M that'll go for bat for you, not there just marking time till
retirement.
Also Willing to take any load, even the short ones usually will set you up for a good run. -
bigblu....what needs to be done to keep you from flooding crap from your mouth. You know not of what you speak. Try talking to more than just "Your Buddy"s" at May and looking at the number of trailers in the Yolo yard. We have plenty of miles. Most of the complainers dont take care of there bizness. They probably dont even know what there PTA is at any given moment. If need be I will post my pay stub from this very week if that will make you happy. I will transflo Tues and will get my stub the following wed. I will post it for you asap.
Techman...who do you drive for. We do Post trips. -
who cares how many mt's u c. doesnt mean ####. who cares if may didnt work 4 u. for the last 2months i am getting close to 3000miles a week buddy, steady miles. guess nobody liked you there and from ure posts, i can c why. u seem like a freekin cry baby. who cares if they are a training co, i can guarantee the newbies like me are way better than you were when you first started. just gotta except the new generation of trucker has come and we will not put up with ure "super trucker attitude" if you got a problem with that,Last edited by a moderator: Apr 26, 2009

I agree w/ you yzfster, I enjoy May, it has been slow for I will admit because I've been running 11 Western for a few months, I'm on home time, but was in Brooks last week and my truck is sitting Layton now, both yards were nearly devoid of trailers. I know the last time I saw the bog better known as Yolo they were 3 deep w/ trlrs. But Layton and Brooks are nearly empty of trailers. If any one doubts what I say I show you my logbooks that prove I was in both places but I don't have to prove anything, I'm telling the truth whether someone wants to believe it or not. I'm sorry a certain person doesn't like May, I'm happy there and don't plan an going anywhere else anytime soon. I haven't seen anything you're taliking about. I take anything they give me and deliver it as legally and safetly as possible, even if that means shutting down in the middle of Wyoming because 45mph winds w/ 60 mph gusts, 1/4 mile visibility and 20k in van because I'm more nervous of Stupid oops I mean Super truckers who thinks it's a clear day 75 degrees. I think I've maybe turned down 2 or 3 loads because I just couldn't do them or AMericold screwed up and the wrong address for my load to the company and logistics thought I was else where or I just didn't have the hours to run it. I will even take shag runs or short loads, it gets miles and money where I wouldn't get squat. I don't complain about loads, well at least not to my DM. I'm out here to do a job and that jobs is to deliver what my company gives me and to get it there on time as close as i can. If that's an issue w/ anyone then you're in wrong business.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 26, 2009
