Send me a list of the ones who are doing that and we'll see what we can do.
PM me if you'd be more comfortable.

I used to have a list of those guys. Not sure if I can find it. There were usually found in the the "Advice for new drivers" section talking about how good automatic transmissions were. I think most on my list have moved on now. They get bored playing internet trucker after a while.

Exactly. Most are just a flash in the pan. They show up here, bomb the site with posts about their exploits...most of which are either plagiarised or completetly phony, and then they're gone. Most of them give themselves away because if they were driving full time they'd never have the time to post as much as they do.
They've been everywhere, they've done everything, and they're real free with their advice, most of which is either misleading or totally wrong.
Most of us can tell the difference but the newbies eat that stuff up...and that's the rub. We owe the rookies, and ourselves, better than that.
Newbies are a PITA, no argument there. But if somebody doesn't answer their questions and guide them in their decision making they're apt to hurt themselves or somebody else. The answers they ask for need to be accurate and based on real world experience, not some glorified lunch counter story.
TTR doesn't have the time or the staff to vet every story for accuracy and truth. I wish we did and so does most of the staff but I don't see that changing. All we can do, with the help of the membership, is nip away at the bad ones when we get a chance and try to keep the BS to an acceptable level.
