Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
I am about to give up!

I do not have a problem getting a TWIC, but from the way it sounds, dont most companies make the driver pay for it up front, then reimburse them back in installments? If its a company 'requirement', they should cough up the $$ for it, yeah?
Eventually i'll get my doubles-triples and HAZMAT endorsments, cause i know it will look better. Same with a TWIC, but i'll have to see a 'need' for it first before i got one. Not just to get one to have it, and HOPE i start getting use out of it. -
Very true! May be hard but you can find a local job!
-
This is just my opinion, but anything you can do to make yourself more "marketable" is to your best advantage. When I was applying for jobs, I found even having the haz-mat was an added plus.
-
That's what I was thinking. I want to get the fullest qualification possible to open up the arena. After all, it's just a test.
-
I've got every endorsement that I could test for. Even went so far as to get a passport in case I work for someone who goes into Canada. As I previously posted, do everything possible to market yourself. If the person doing the hiring sees that you've got one thing more than the next guy or that you've made the effort to get more, it could be the difference in getting the job or not. If you can get anything else, get it. Be ready to go to work.

Just having the hazmat, doubles and triples can open doors come interview time.....
-
You have to market yourself, if you don't, ain't noooo body gonna do it for you...
-
It took me awhile,....But I managed to land a great local job,...P/D monday through friday and home every night,..................... -
I know this is going to sound cruel...Theres always barber college...Just funnin... Seriously though, have you ever thought about working for a leased owner op?Another words a lease owner is a guy that leases his trucks on with landstar or whoever, and puts drivers in them you would be working for the contractor, instead of the company... He is leased you would still have to pass all the companies garbage but he would be responsible for insurance and so forth...
