Sounds like a fun morning.

couple of points to bring up here about the load Otter is running.
He's rolling Cali with the 40 King pin to rear axle limit. If they slid back a notch it would put him over length in Cali.
"Trainee" is running as a second chancer. Although most of us would have run it. Better for him to be cautious.
Load is Lumber. They are used to loading spread axle flats. I've seen the load diagrams they use for vans, and most are done under the assumption of a refer to counter balance. If he had a refer that weight would have counter balanced from the overhang and pulled that 100 pounds off the tandems. The shippers literally are told by their boss to load it wrong.Lepton1, InTooDeep, Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
seriously Otter, I don't know anyone that would write you up for 100 lbs. The shipper must have thought you were high when you came back. Live and learn.......frito bandito and otterinthewater Thank this.

A hard braking could have shifted the weight.Lepton1, Cattleman84, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this.

Or slid the lumber through the sleeper for a nice close inspection?Farmerbob1 and tucker Thank this.

I'm in KC now.

And that attitude needs to change. Load the trucks right or go out of business. Their cheap freight is not worth the risk of a ticket.Farmerbob1 and lovesthedrive Thank this.
-
Congrats or Condolences?
Guess it depends on if you like K.C. style cooking and if there is a place nearby.lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
well, I guess Chinese at Mont Eagle is out of the question then. However, I hear they have some decent barbecue in KC. Not southern BBQ, but eatable anyway.lovesthedrive and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
