Daily Driver Shortage

Ya know Dave it's a sad day ( yesterday ) when I say to my dispatcher " you probably shouldn't send our less intelligent drivers to this place " her reply was " lmao ...that's most of em now " .

 

Don't worry Dave, the driver shortage is almost over - we are cutting our hiring target for the year, by almost 50% in some regions.

 

And when most of the people that ran right out and bought new equipment to haul spot market freight are broke the market will adjust again ...hopefully more long term this time .

 

I know a couple contract meat haulers that are on the hook for 280k plus ...and they do very well and have for many years but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night with they're payments .

 

I swear nobody believes in keeping it simple anymore!!lol

Well these 2 of which I speak are contracted outbound directly to the packer and inbound to a des Moines based grocery company with produce .
Both are old school and been in the same contract 20 years or more .
And are definitely not lazy !
