Council id at a shell station that has truck parking.
Final took about 4 hrs to unload those tires. Didn't start till I was there for 1.5 hrs in the dock.
While leaving Spokane it started to rain and hasn't stopped since. Miserable ride down the us95.
Went to Lewiston terminal to.get this heavy load and scaled it at that truck stop down the street.
Pretty sure I can make it to jurupa terminal by Saturday evening. 850 miles from here I believe.
Have to stop at loves in Ontario or for fuel.
Hope I can make it to Hawthorne nv tomorrow. 525 miles and I have 11 hrs on my 70 for tomorrow get another 10 for saturday.

Sitting on the Greyhound headed home after turning in my Swift truck in Columbus. I had a good run at Swift. I was a level 2 Diamond Driver and ran the Costco (their best IMO) account for over four years.

I just couldn’t deal with being on the road for three weeks at a time, especially when my main run was Chicago to Minneapolis. This winter was absolutely brutal. OTR guys will run in the cold for a week or two then head somewhere south to get some relief. Not me, it was a solid ice block for three months straight this year. One night it was so cold that I woke up from from the freezing temps (-15) even with my truck idling. I had to stand with my foot on the fuel for 3 minutes to get the engine warm enough to blow hot air. Never happened to me before.

Anyhow, I start with J.B. on Tuesday running the Home Depot account out of Monroe Ohio. Maybe some of you have been there. I’ve been there many times.

Good luck with your adventures at Swift. I think this this is the most active company thread so I’ll still probably check in from time to time.

    Over and out.

They did end up puting me in a different truck.

I was bused from Beckley, WV down to Memphis, TN.
A 640 mile trip that left at 2345 Thursday night and finally arrived in Memphis at 1730 on Friday.
We suffered 2 breakdowns along the way.
The first, in Wytheville, when we transferred to a different bus. There was an alarm going off and a few people came to check it out, then we departed for Nashville. About 10 miles later the driver turned around and returned to the terminal. I was a few rows back and could see the reflection of his dash, and there was a check engine light flashing the whole time.
We changed to a different bus.
Than that bus blew the left rear tire a few hours later. It totally exploded and there was nothing left on the rim.
Luckily there was another Greyhound bus right behind us that was nearly empty. We all moved to that bus for the remainder of the trip to Memphis.

Then I get this truck, which is an `18 Cascadia, so one year newer than mine.
The inverter does not work, and after driving it I noticed a problem in the front end. When I apply the brakes the front end and steering wheel shakes, and it is a bit disconcerting.
But this trip has me getting about 20 miles from the Columbus terminal, so I will put it in the shop after I deliver.

My own truck is due to be repaired by Monday evening or Tuesday morning sometime. I'll see if I can bus back there from Columbus, since it is only about 225 miles away.

    I'm keeping my original truck.
Most of my stuff is still in it so I would have to get there with this truck to swap things out, and then what to do with the original with no driver. It can't sit in that parking lot forever.
Besides, there are too many things I do not like about this truck. I like mine better in so many ways.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

My bus leaves at 0240 tomorrow morning and arrives in Beckley at around 0930.

    So do I.

It's only about 225 miles with no transfers. Hopefully it is not too full.

I'm a happy camper, back in my truck.

The bus was pretty empty. I don't think there was anyone sitting next to someone else.
The last segment of my trip we had a trainee with her trainer. It would have not been so bad if the trainer would have shut up a bit. But it was constant chatter to the driver about nothing in particular, so it must have been a distraction for her.
