experienced advice needed

Wiindshield gaskets are cheap. If yours leaked, why didnt you bother to get it replaced? Maybe an hour of work for a new gasket. What is your excuse for not fixing it?

 

They all leak, some of the Pete’s are notorious for the fuse panel at left kick panel being full of rust. New WS also, check the forums on these specific Trucks, read all about it. Don’t fall for that great very practical looking deal on an International. All kinds of Manufacturer specific problems, they can’t give them away.

 

Just like marriage, I didn't listen, why should you? I did ok with my own trucks, but that was 20 years ago, and I was an outlaw, and did my own repairs in order to make it. You'd have to be nuts to do that today.

 

No such thing as a pre emission dd15. There were some pre emission series 60 12.7, but everything in the DD series is fitted with emission controls. They even moved the timing gears from the front of the engine to the back side with the DD series. There probably is some running around with the emission deleted, but why would you want to buy a truck that is illegal?

 

I drove one that had no DEF. Stepped into a new DD 13 and it had DEF.

 

Every S60 12.7 is "pre emission". You might be thinking of the S60 14L. It had egr, but no DPF.

2013 was when DEF fluid was introduced I believe, maybe 2012. And if you only think there are "some" DD15's running around deleted, then you have no idea. There are A LOT of deleted trucks and for very good reason.
