Go to work for whoever you want. No one owns you. You don’t owe these Strangers anything. Get used to folks trying to manipulate you and trying to take advantage of you. Be aware!!! Don’t let it happen. Avoid the tough lessons learned. Make the most of your Life/ Career. It’s your Life.Your decisions. Don’t be a Sucker. I’m out of things to say!!!! (Rare) !!! Good Luck
Is this wrong or would it be fairly common?

The advice he is asking for, the company name, doesn't really matter or even enter into the equasion.
He is asking if it is a bad move to take a job as a stepping stone basically.
My thought is no.
Now, if it is werner with the DG job, he got some good advice he didn't ask for.Teb1987 Thanks this. -
That new cdl holders are stuck with a low paying mega for a year is a myth. Good jobs are out there.jmz, Rideandrepair, Teb1987 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Being intentionally vague because it's a public forum and it wasn't necessarily pertinent, and I don't want anything affecting my chances before I even get started.
Also, thanks kemosabi, the place I'm looking at is by all accounts one of the better places in my neck of the woods and seems to be flexible with home time as long as you are performing which is also important to my wife and kidsRideandrepair Thanks this. -

you have a moniker, you are protected unless you want to tell the world who you are so ... as one who knows a lot more from my drivers, there are reasons why we all wonder who these companies are, mainly to warn others of the pitfalls so to avoid what you are going through. -
When I was in CDL school I thought it was great that they offered lifetime job placement, until I figured out that meant they pushed jobs on students that offered them the biggest referral fees. Don't fall for the hype and look out for yourself. In addition to pay and mileage guarantees, find out what their benefit packages are like, how much of each paycheck it will cost you for those benefits, and get it all in writing before accepting the job. Recruiters will lie through their teeth to sign you up and get their commission. There are hundreds of stories here from drivers who were promised a lot of things that they never got. Don't be a sucker.
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
