Panther Expedited Services Good or Bad Company?

Ok i Will tell ya i work for panther or should i say a owner i drive her truck i get .24 cents a mile she then charges me for a truck lease .10 cents a mile plus qcom and insurance so home time forget it forced dispatch O Yea
miles maybe not sitting at truck stops O YEA lots of time for that
wish i had the money to play video games good luck with panther im looking for a real job.....

 

I never heard of any expedite forced dispatch . You contracted with the wrong owner . But if it was that bad why did you start in the first place ?

Panther is not forced dispatch. Maybe the owner elongeg drives for dictates he take everything... dunno.

I've heard Panther has a hiring freeze on trucks. Doesn't matter to me, as I don't like their politics, and wouldn't sign on with them again. I've found much better companies who are not only more professional, but treat you like a human. Only thing I like about Panther is that they will let you find your own freight for 15% as their take.

 

I've been contacted by Panther to work for one of their fleet operators. They've reviewed my work history, etc and I've been approved. If anyone would like to post their experiences, miles, did you make any money, etc. I'd sure like to hear from you. Please try to be as factual as you can be, there's so much carrier bashing and I'm not into that. Thanks so much.

 

Congratulations . I knew you would succeed in finding work . IrunU ran a cargo van for Panther for a while then went to a straight truck . She hasn't been around for about a month . She last posted in the ANY EXPEDITERS ? thread . If you go there you can click her avatar and see her other posts . As far as making money goes that's up to the individual and the trick is not to accept too many loads out of the freight lanes . Are you running solo ? I'm sure the fleet owner will be happy to give you money making tips .

They want a team and there's a woman that I went to school with who really found out about this, who wants to run team with me. You know me and my asking questions... I asked about miles, the recruiter said about 2,000 a week for teams right now. Having been in TL, this doesnt sound like a lot, but is it? They aren't taking any solos right now, all teams. But, they are hiring...

 

Expediters generally only run about 75% the number of miles an OTR driver will but they get a higher rate . The usual rule is drivers get 60% of the gross and buy the fuel but they also get 100% of the fuel surcharge . You have the right to refuse loads . A 75% acceptance rate is expected . Expect to sit a day or two between loads . Remember when you run team any time in the truck is on duty if you're not driving unless you are in the sleeper so don't get caught in the passenger seat . Bears in the median watch for that . Bring some money to hold you over . Panther's idea of an advance is to pay 50% when they get the signed bill of lading . You get the rest when they get paid . You will probably be paid by Comdata card . To keep fees to a minimum try to set up the ability to direct deposit funds from the comdata card to your checking account . I don't know if you'll be able to do that as a team .

Panther II is not a bad company unless your looking for an honest one. I worked for them for a of 6 months then left for 1 month and my owner asked me to give Panther one more try. I did. total time was 16 months and, well nothing changed. I was lucky to get 600 to 800 miles a week. they always tried to steal a few miles here and there and forget bonus the gave or even tried to take away a dry run. want proof? I have all my BOLs and PROBILLs from day one as well as most of my paystubs. each time you catch them, they end up giving less miles or even giving you no runs for a week. If you are making payments for your truck, dont go to panther, you will loose all. want numbers of drivers who have lost all? ask other drivers new and old and get their thoughts. the BIBLE says two or more witnesses. They dont care if you eat or loose your truck. See a panther truck, watch how long it will be setting where you see it. make sure its the same truck number so you dont make a mistake. dont end up with an i told you so like i did. companies like them need to be shut down. speak up what you learn. too top it all off, now i am stranded in Detroit, Mi. with out a job. remember, paper saved dosnt lie.

 

If you dont take a load they will count it against you and when you get to 67% they will look over you. would you take a load that is 12,000 lbs that payes 1.10 per mile and a .06 fsc that goes 300 miles and the shipper is 86 miles from you and the conns is 200 miles from any load boards and they say they are not giving out empty moves? remember that if you refuse you go to the end of the line. also how long have you been there already..
