Looking for any info on Sodrel Truck Lines in Indianapolis. Seen another thread that was a couple years old.
Also they have a Safe Drivers Institute of America at their facility (SDIA) That is $5000 and you can have it payroll deducted if you work for them.

    5 week course

It is an hour drive for me to get to the place but maybe worth it to get my cdl and experience.

Anyone with info or working there now care to post some info like routes , pay , pros and cons etc...………

    Thanks

I don’t work for Sodrel and never have but I have driven by their main facility daily for years. How bad could it be driving an older well maintained Mack for a company that pays decent? When I look at a daycab, especially the one I own I see an income source that doesn’t have me peeing in a bottle when I get up in the middle of the night. I am either home in my bed or a hotel of my choice and not in some overcrowded truck stop. The same can be said for their drivers as most are home daily. They do have a few sleeper trucks but they were bought for an occasional team run. I put over a million miles on Mack day cabs and they never once left me stranded on the side of the road. I can’t say that about any other brand of rig I have driven over the last 30 plus years. 96128CF2-FD3A-4DB8-B9D3-64DCDFB04179.png

Someone posted somewhere that they really maintain their equipment. So that is good.

LOL Is this your airplane :) It would take all day just to start the engines.

I like this one; this isn't a political post; it's about aviation because I know you've been a contractor in that field.

Oct 03, 2016 · The World’s largest plane will soon be resurrected. China will sign a deal with Ukraine to breathe new life into the Soviet-era manufacturing program for the production of the AN-225, which is a strategic, airlift cargo aircraft designed in the Soviet Union in the late 80s by Antonov Design Bureau.

I recently watched a program on that aircraft on National Geographic channel. Just the tare weight alone in unbelievable. If I remember correctly, it hauled a generator to Australia that weighed over 80 tons.
    It hauls locomotives also.

I have never worked for them, but I live in Indy and know a few of their drivers. The equipment is old but they say it is well maintained. Biggest complaints are dispatch. We have a few of their former driver's working for us, and I know they are down in numbers right now.
I know they have driver facing cameras.
Also if you go to their school don't let them talk you into getting your passenger endorsement. They'll be asking you to drive buses sometimes. That's according to a former driver. He had to do that.
