Yep my post was sorta in response to RL post. I don't think a couple hundred bucks is a fortune to spend on a citizen's band radio. That's just my opinion tho and that dollar amount fluctuates wildly depending on who you ask

I see where your coming from.

But let's be a little realistic here, these are almost the same exact radios that they were 40'years ago except with newer components, the basic design has yet to change. While other radios, like ham radios have change drastically, cb radios have remained static.

These radios are single conversion simple filtering with a simple transmit strip, all the bells and whistles are built around this design and really doesn't improve it.

the range wasn't anything long ,a few miles , some times more. I don't need to talk to Mexico from Detroit on "skip", just down the road and across the median. that way if a tire is coming apart or a light is out, somebody can let me know. traffic tie ups ,ect.

I'm not a radio guy, just a basic understanding of them.

mine is always on, just not yakking on it.

Your link says it’s an AM/FM radio. I’m confused because when I clicked on the link, it doesn’t say anything about FM. Unless I missed it. You really shouldn’t need a new cb radio tuned (I know everyone insists on it), it should work just fine out of the box.

Some of the bells and whistles make them more enjoyable to use, minus freaking echo and freaking roger beep

    Numb and Intothesunset Thank this.
