Yea, the listed weight doesn't include the upfit weight. I'll tell you something more, it doesn't include my dual fuel tanks or any other extra options I bought the truck with. My truck weighs 9300 lbs full of 74 gallons of fuel, some kit and me.
Where did you get that chart from? And that is what I meant if 33k lbs was my hard limit as it shows in the chart yet on the same line it says I have 25k lb tow capacity. It doesn't add up. -
Been getting them sense 2014.
Ram body builder site has the same information.
The numbers are close.
Base weight 7723
Hitch crafters 740 +or-
Fuel 525 +or-
Total 8988
Max Tra 25130
Total 34118
Take away fuel and Hitch crafters you have 3285324kHotshot Thanks this. -
I have some time to research it further. Thanks for the info bmercer. -
If you can get out of the trailer you ordered I would and buy the 50' kaufman.
It only weighs approx. 5600 lbs and is rated for 18k.
I ran a used 3 7k axle for 2 years with a Ram 3500 with 3.73 rear and never had a problem with it.
I put new bearings in it when I bought it and serviced them myself on a regular basis.
One set of shoes the whole time.
I don't know why Ram does things the way they do.
Check out the 3500 with 4.10 rear on this chart. Big difference on gcwr (33k c@c) (43k pickup)
I can tell you the most I ever grossed on mine was 32k. (2 fords Raptors and a mini Van)
I had my tag at 36k.
The bad thing about the 3500 is the rear axle rating.
You can overload it very easy. The 4500 has a 12k rear and the 5500 has a 13.5k rear.
The 5500 is what I have now.Attached Files:

I prefer the tandem for lower maintenance costs and the 28k lbs combined total is plenty for 3 cars. Very good reviews for the Take 3 quality and not being able to find any used ones for sale kind of proves it. No one wants to sell their take 3. 5300 lb on the scale and low profile. 49 ft of load with an option for flip outs if I want them added later.
I'm going to stick to the trailer I ordered for a year or so and then rent it out when I am ready for a good upgrade.
I bought the 3500 because the plan was going to be to run non cdl. I didn't realize the c&c can't tow as much as the pickup back then. If I knew then that I would be getting my cdl I definitely would have bought a 5500. You live you learn I guess... Overall I am happy with my truck and will be content with a 3 car for now. -
You'll be fine with what you got.
It will give you a chance to see and learn what the business is all about.
Here are the scale tickets for the Ram 3500 and kaufman 50'.
Full of fuel, equipment and me ready to go.
Good luck to you. Keep us posted.
I always like to hear of another's success.
Everyone has something to share an if they will we can all learn.Attached Files:

Do you have a picture of that trailer? I think we are not talking about the same kaufman trailer. Is that a wedge? I hooked up to a low profile 3 axle kaufman wedge, empty trailer tool boxes, full of fuel and all kit except straps and it added 6700 lbs to my scale ticket. I'm not sure but I think it might of had the 17.5 wheels on it. Could that justify over a 1000 lbs of extra weight?
Can cat scales "lie" ? -
-
Yes it was Kaufman's standard 50' 3 axle wedge, no extras.
I don't know what the 3 axle low pro weighs.
Scales do vary some.
That same trailer equipped the same, weighted with three different trucks at the same scale, over different time periods came in different.
5120, 5340, 5480
Here is a picture of the heaviest load I had.Attached Files:
