I ran across this Veterans CDL Training And Truck Driving Jobs - Swift . Has anyone had any experience with this program? Is it as legit as it sounds? According to this, an honorably discharged Veteran will get a full scholarship (queue jokes about getting what you pay for..). The normal fee these days is $6000 I believe. I'm always skeptical so just wanting to know if anyone has any actual experience with this and how did it or is it working out?
Swift Transportation Veteran's Scholarships being offered.

You can also use your GI Bill and go to a community college or other school and not actually be tied to any one company

What sad excuse for GI benefits that I had was called the VEAP program and those laughingly meager benefits (compared to previous or current GI type benefits for education) have long since been used. I was in the Air Force from 1979 to 1988.
Also, I don't think there is a community college or truck driving school within a reasonably commutable distance from where I am living. -
I went to the swift school 24 years ago and they took it out of my check 25$ a week
After 2 1/2 years I got a day cab job and I owed them nothing
I have used no benefits as a peace time vet
The va clinic said I make too much money -
Hey, I got the same answer from them!

Yes our company dealt with the Obamacare deductibles and we get reimbursed good so no worries
Hanging on 3 more years until Medicare and the retirement funds gonna be ok -
I worked for the Federal Government. I was basically only trying to get registered with the VA in case something catastrophic happened (years ago my brother was in a horrendous head-on collision and if it hadn't been for the fact he was a veteran and the VA stepped up to help, I don't know what would have happened to him. He was in the hospital in traction and all manner of therapy for months afterward).SilverBulletBand Thanks this.
