Crete Carrier - A Year In Review - Fall 2013 Going Forward

Sent a message I was ready to go and twenty minutes later with no reply sent another. Waited twenty more then called in to see if messaging was down and told no, they’re just “behind”.

 

They must struggle to keep asset managers too...I called in 3 different times and stayed on hold for 1 1/2 hours total trying to get a different fuel solution.

 

Truck breaks down towed to shop. End up in a rental car sent to recover a day cab. Arrive, move in, get message that plans have changed. End up switching trucks/ trailer with another Crete. Peoplenet not working in the truck, landing gear not working on the trailer. Other driver hands me the key and cautioned me not to lock it in the truck, but “if you do” has a spare hidden under step by air tank. Get to terminal late check into shop. Come back, door locked. Fumble around in the dark, pull cord air hissing finally realized I’m trying to get in the wrong truck. Thankfully whoever was in there wasn’t armed, or hopefully wasn’t awake.

How often do I do something really stupid?
Somehow I’ve made it to an older age then I ever expected so apparently not that often.

 

$15/hr was what they paid for detention 10 years ago, when the cost of living was what it was 10 years ago.

 

How long have you people been OTR with just a storage unit?

How many years? And what’s your end goal?

I’m going on 2 yrs. 13 yrs local before that.

 

Zoom in! That's sad. Look at what our society has created! Makes me sick.

 

We now need designated drivers for all of the textaholics.

And don't think commercial drivers are any different! I saw a "professional" driver with a laptop on his dash watching a movie going down I35 before dawn. I knew something was up when he was taking all three lanes of the freeway!!
