    Got my father's day gift a while ago. Top one is me and Sonny with the first mechanics truck. My Dad and his ol 51 Studebaker boom truck. I still use the poles around the the shop. Other two are just pics of my ol heap lol. Simple but I love it

    If memory serves... they were swamped with SC engines cores when the BC came out. By using what BC parts they could and changing the timing / injectors they squeezed a few more ponies out. So the 400 / 420 came to be.
    SC camshafts couldn’t take the pressure on the injector lobes from higher fuel pressure when guys tried to gain a few more horses, bigger lobes and bigger journals solved that problem. But you can still over do a BC. A little pressure is fine, but volume creates the same desired results without destroying the Cam / engine. That’s why I run 220 injectors instead of stock 176’s ;). And still have just a little pressure. I’d like to build a BC with N14 rotating assembly and pistons some time...... put the big pump on it and let it eat :).
