You can count me as a source. I had to replace the o-rings on the riser tubes right after I bought the truck. I suspect the low oil pressure warning light that came on when I stopped for the first time after a long run was probably the reason the last owner sold the truck. I also replaced the oil pump at the same time just on principle. 250K miles later and no oil problems since.Ssgtkevin, Vampire, Jarhed1964 and 3 others Thank this.

Hey wally, are you running a dd15 as well? I was looking at buying a 2010 with 730k mi, but I was skeptical because i haven't seen too many dd15 engines that have lasted 1 mil

Call Haggai Automotive and Diesel they are a few miles south of Atlanta in Griffin GA.
In frames are their specialty along with repairing crap deletes. Make an appointment, they are normally booked out a few weeks, as folks come from all over the country to have their trucks fixed. They do fantastic work and warranty everything that they touch. And yes, they have worked on my truck, along with helping on my own in frame. And that’s another thing, if you want to help, you can, and shave a few bucks off the bill. How many shops will allow you to do that? Call them, Katie will take care of you.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 20, 2019

Buy a detroit 60 series rfor about 5-6k repair it for about 6k to 0 miles on a pallet and put it on that truck, it will cost you about 15k and u will have a new truck with a million to go! If you find a 1999 engine you will be eld exempt
Intothesunset Thanks this. -
Maybe it doesn't need an overhaul, if I was you I would go for a second opinion, I took my cascadia to freightliner to replace a dpf sensor and they try to have me spend more than 15k for a new one box that I didn't need, instead I just paid to do a professional delete and my truck is now running fine
Bains Thanks this. -

John Deer designed the 60 series for the most part.
