I will be starting in just over a week any thing i should look for

 

here is what i dont understand, maybe someone can help me with the math. i have talked to lease o/o and they "claim" they are making money. and i would suppose they are because they keep doing it. however, i do the math "everyday" and cant seem to figure out how. so here is my math and someone please tell me if there is an error in it. .14 cpm for depreciation, .07 cpm maintenance, .02 cpm fuel tax, .25 cpm actual fuel, .20 cpm tax fund. now the truck payment is 500.00 a month and the insurance with the work comp is 250.00 a month, that is about .21 cpm on 3500 miles. so the total of that is .89 cpm on 3500 miles. they ONLY pay .90 cpm. so now i am working for .01 cpm? ive been with a trainer for 75 days now, (my first one got fired and that time didnt count for me because she didnt turn in the paperwork) and we have had more 3500 mile weeks than any other kind of week. (we have had 4500 and 5000 but more 3500 than any). now, this is team mind you! so how can we make any money on a lease? please tell me my math is wrong somewhere and that it is possible to make money.. thanks

Just to clear up a couple of things.
You can not buy or lease a truck from anywhere but England and lease on to England right now. They will not allow it.
The fuel cost is not .25 a mile. Mine has been around .12-.18. The fuel tax reserve is .015. My truck lease is $459 a week. My insurance is $222 a week. I am a phase 1 trainer. I have some good weeks and some bad weeks. I would say I average about $1500 a week. Thats after everything. Including home time. I would not suggest trying a lease with England if you are planning on being solo. I have talked to guys that make it work but I do not think that it is worth it for what you make. If anyone is really interested in England and has a question that the recruiters are not answering I will shoot you straight. I am an open book. When my students get off the truck they know the good bad and ugly of England.

yes they are. everyone has til december to swithc to paperless,.. you can still run paper logs til december if you want,..., but after december you wont have a choice but to be paperless

Mann CRE has got a great money racket going on there. If only people were not so gullible this company would go under over night.

 

I know I worked for England as a team with my wife, we never made #### as company drivers, but I went 2 weeks solo and made decent money and the stress level was slashed by 80%.
Also Friend's team as lease drivers and they lost their house, and have been home 3 times in 08!
