All owner-operators should beware of Kim doing business as Double Deuce Express out of either CA or AZ. She claims to be a "load finder" and claims to have access to $2.50 - $3.00/mile freight. I trusted what she said and sent her $1000 for an insurance policy only to find out she set up her authority using my truck and money. In addition, the $2.50 - $3/mile freight was a joke-she sent me load records showing her other trucks averaging $1.55/ mile - no better. When I came to my senses and told her I did not want to do business with her she agreed to give me back $700 of the $1000 I had sent her. That was 4 months ago and although she has made repeated promises to me over the phone to pay up I still have yet to see one cent. My advice is for you to stay totally away from one Kim and Double Deuce Express - she stiffed me and I think there's a pretty good chance if you trust her you'll get taken too.

Hello everyone, I am Kim Garcia the owner of Double Deuce Express. I have heard today that Mr. Al C decided to complain about me and tell all of you that I am a horrible person. Well his story that he posted is only partly true, what happened was this....
Back in April/May of 2008 I wanted to become a carrier and help the trucking industry by getting loads for them. I posted an add on truck paper in search of a truck willing to lease on to me, so that I may gain my authority. As you all are aware this is the way you have to do things if you dont own a truck yourself. Well Al answered my ad and soon we began the process of gaining our authority. The total due for the insurance on the truck was 3800.00, of which Al gave me 1000.00 toward it, and the deal was that I would load his truck, take my 10% off each load, and we would split the costs of the insurance and the ifta taxes. (seems pretty fair huh?) well Al was a complete nightmare to work with. He called me at least 10 times a day, and we were not even getting loads yet. He wanted proof of the load values, which at that time, I was loading a flat bed through a friend of mine. the rates were not that high at that time due to the weather and such for a flatbed. I gave him several references on me, and one was my friend who owns her own truck and company, and she was the one that was loading a dry van at the time for the amount of 2.00 to 2.50 per mile. I have never claimed any more than what I have seen for myself. (now remember this was WAY before the fuel went up or the economy took a ####!) Well I sent Al the stickers for his truck, and all the paperwork necessary to get him on the road. He was driving me and my insurance broker crazy. He wouldnt commit to anything to do with the company. our phone conversations were, (al): well i dont know, and he would freakin whine and whine and whine to me. So finally TWO MONTHS later, AL decided he didnt want to lease on to me, and with no further notice, excpet a phone call, he quit. now my contract with AL had been in effect for TWO MONTHS, he had insurance on his truck for TWO MONTHS and only had to pay 1000.00 for it. He lived in Michigan, and I was in Arizona at the time! He even admitted to me that he had done a few loads during that TWO MONTHS in the truck that was insured by me. My contract with him also stated that he could not cancel without a written 30 day notice, which he failed to do. But I was willing to get out of it, since he was driving me insane. I had loads lined up each day for him and when I would call with the rates, he wanted to speak to the broker/shipper and he would never accept them. So to defend myself, I DONT OWE HIM A RED CENT!!! THAT TRUCK WAS INSURED FOR 2 MONTHS, ON WHICH I PAID THE 2ND MONTH MYSELF, HE DIDNT EVEN PAY THE HALF THAT HE AGREED TO IN THE CONTRACT.!!! SO DID I STEAL FROM HIM??? NO I DID NOT!!! EVEN MY INSURANCE BROKER TOLD HIM HE WAS NOT INTITLED TO ANY MONEY BACK!!! SO THAT IS MY SIDE OF THE STORY!!! I AM NOT A THEIF OR A LIAR, I AM AN HONEST PERSON, TRYING TO MAKE A FREAKIN LIVING LIKE THE REST OF YOU!! THE TRUCK I HAVE LEASED ONTO ME NOW, MADE OVER 270,000 DOLLARS LAST YEAR, SO HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH ME!!!! HA HA HA!!! HIS LOSS!!!! SO YOU SEE, I DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!

Classic he said/she said ordeal. The ironic thing about it is IF they were to meet in person, all past nightmarish events would be thrown to the wayside and they would hook up and all for that ol' happy ending. They may even plan on running team.
That is my experience w/women in charge on their end of the spectrum anyway and it might be mind blowing for both of them.
Worse case scenario? They agree to disagree and continue to use each other's services for profit on a regualr basis.
    hahahahaha
But wait! It is entirely plausible that this may come to fruition so I'll cease my hearty laugh and hope for the best.Trucking is,afterall, all about making a profit in the business of transportation.

    hey allnite,

while i appreciate you being on what i see is my side of the coin, i am not too sure what you meant by "hooking up". I am happily married, and this was not like that. This was a business deal. I am no longer in need of his services as I have found another truck to lease on to my company, and have been running quite well since. I do however think that this situation would not have been so bad, had He, (AL) not been such a whiney little #####, and got in his truck and drove. There would have been no problems. But it is what it is, and we do agree to disagree. I just don't want ANYONE out there that might be a potential business associate of mine, to think less of me for any reason. I have an impecable track record and no complaints thus far, (except crybaby AL!!!) thanks for your support, I THINK!!!

I do not know about anybody else but I have an endorsement on my cdl that specifically says I am entitled to whine, took a test and everything, passed with flying colors and only had to pay $20 for it.

Hey Kim.You know, the mere fact that you replied to my assnine post spoke volumes.KUDOS to you ma'am.I had actually started my post as a sarcastic/warped sense of humor(on my behalf) one but I had to go back and edit it because i just felt like it was too sarcastic.I apologise for my smarta-- display of truck driver junk.
I have to accept your reply as the truth considering there has been no rebuttal to allow me to do otherwise.
Best of luck in your business.

i would have took the loads she offered and gave it 6 months to see how i did before i statred to whine if i made money then stay with her. 2 months of not running does not give her a chance. sounds like she had him loads every day that he turned down.

    Double Deuce Express Thanks this.

I am not a bad person at all!! He never gave me the chance to do anything for him. So the way I see it, is as HIS LOSS!!! I am just thankful that it was only 2 months that I had to put up with him!!!

"Me thinks thou dost protest too much!" Only someone with a guilty conscience would go to the trouble you are going to to try and prove that they are honest. Your story is laughable, but the sad thing is I think you believe it to be true. None of this really matters anyway because my job has been done in that I have at least gotten a few drivers to "think" before dealing with you. I never expected to run you out of business because I know for many drivers you perfectly fill the bill. They don't care about courtesy or ethics or hours of service rules - they only care about the money. We all know you don't have any substantial or regular freight (and never did) that pays $2.50-$3.00/mile, nor did you last year. If you can prove that you did why don't you post the invoices here and prove me a liar like you contend that I am. I know how people like you work, Kim, and I know that the truth only exists inside your mind. Any attempt to prove my case, short of documented phone and email records, will just be met by more or your creative storytelling where you come out to be the victim. As I said before, it is laughable to watch you work. "He called me 10 times a day!" Yes I did because you, as the fine businesswoman that you were, would never answer your phone, and not call me back for hours or days at a time. "He did nothing but whine!" If that means that I expected you to do what you promised and held your feet to the fire, then I am indeed a "whiner". "He wouldn't commit to anything for 2 months!" There was nothing I could commit to, Kim, because you couldn't get your authority for that entire period of time and I was sitting on my hands and making no money (oh, sorry, I didn't mean to whine). You never offered me any loads, because you didn't have your authority, I sent you back your stickers and there was never a signed contract between us because I bailed out before you even had the authority to sign such a contract. In addition, you unethically used my truck (without telling me) to apply for your authority and then used my $1000 to pay for insurance that I never used. It seems to me like you're lucky that whining is the only thing you got from me, Kim - you're lucky I didn't sue you for fraud and conversion of funds. But all is well now. I have said my piece and you have spun your little fantasy. I knew I would never see the $700 you "promised" to send me 4 or 5 times but I think I've gotten a little "blood" out of the Kim Garcia turnip just by virtue of causing you to spend time here defending yourself. As for the others, it's up to them to make their own decisions. I'm sure you don't care how many hours a guy runs, so I am sure you have many drivers who love the money they make with you (5000 miles x $1.00/mile = $5000.00. This is it for me; my job is done. We both know who you are and if you can live with that then so can I - 2500 miles away of course.
