I’d call Andre at turbo exchange and see what he says. He’ll tell you what you need and give you a fair price.

 

The thing that sticks out in my mind is, if a mechanic took it apart to replace hoses, how could he miss seeing that damage? That's not the sort of damage that even a moron with no experience whatsoever could miss.Anyone with any brains would have stopped right there, and pointed it out, before doing one more thing, just for the sake of liability. I take it the hose replaced is the blue one.

 

kinda sounds like you told the mechanic how to do the job without messing with the turbos. So as an owner operator, why do you let shop apes work on your livelihood if you know how to do the repairs? I dont let apes work on my truck for this reason alone. Those twins need to come off anyway for a single. Now you are left with downtime and having to fight over whos at fault. Was it really worth it for that one day of r&r so you dont have to work on truck?

 

Now your screwed. YOU took it apart to fix. This guy AND his mechanic and his wife are all gonna say that it was making noise when it came in here.
You dont have an opinion from a reputable dealer explaining the damage....
You are gonna repair it with Chinese parts....
Any case you had against the guy just became he said, she said. You just ate a $8k repair bill (cause you're gonna be changing the air to air next) by not taking it to the cat dealer.
