1999 frieghtliner air conditioning

    Need a little help , what R value was used to recharge the air system,, its a 1999 FLD 120

    Call a shop to find out for sure, but its probably 134a, not sure about updates.

    You should be able to tell for sure by looking at the fittings where you recharge the system. The 134 inlets are bigger than the old system. I had a 96 FLD 120 and it had the 134a in it.That is what you should have also on the 99.Hope this helps.

    do not use the 134 with sealer it will plug small orfices and give you headaches if its out of refrigerant you must find the leak

    Thanks for the advice, System may just need recharging,, these are problems one finds when you buy second hand, lol.

    if its low it has a leak. refrigerant doesn't wear out or dissapear all by itself

    Use a 134a with leak dye in it, it will help locate the leak in the future.
