    Best bet it to get one of those little books at the truck stop and look for the prettiest picture and call that company. I’d plan an 35 cents a mile.

    Truly, I only went with one company. Schneider was a complete total joke. You can't possibly expect a driver to stay with a company that leaves driver stranded at operating centers and truck stops for up to a week. I actually had management at the pilot in Shreveport Louisiana call Schneider and raise hell about me being stranded at their truck stop.

    and I didn't say that I don't like driving I just don't like being stuck out on the road for up to 6 weeks. What kind of life is that? Especially when you have a young child at home.

    The thing is you are still new as far as companies are concerned, with a bad work history in. Iknow it sucks but unless a guy is lucky he has to pay his dues and has to take the lumps and bumps with it. That is strange that schneider would lose money on a truck leaving you sit so much, you are basically just a number to them, but they generally want the truck to bring in revenue.

    They didn't have any freight. It was in December and January. I was constantly sitting around. I would do a live unload and then they would tell me to go to the nearest truck stop and sit until a pre assignment shows up on the Qualcomm. I finally got fed up and bob-tailed from Acropolis Pennsylvania to Atlanta. On my route back to Atlanta I gave them a two week notice. When I was at home my DBL called me and told me that I've been terminated from my job no sense in waiting 2 weeks... go look somewhere else for a new job.they even went as far as clearing my truck out and not allow me to get my stuff out of the truck and a lot of stuff was stolen and I had to file a lawsuit in Fulton county to recover my stolen items from the truck. They ended up settling out. They are a terrible company. I don't give a #### what anybody says.

    And how am I already starting now on a bad note in the trucking industry working for just two companies in one year? I know of drivers that constantly flip and go to different companies. They don't have a hard time finding a job at all. Like I said I don't consider Schneider as being an employer for me they're more of a stain in my memory

    Even for veteran drivers job hopping catches up with them, new drivers companies just think they don't have what it take to do the job, a huge percentage of drivers wash out and quit the first year, this just cost companies money taking on a new guy, no reason for them to do it if they think a guy wont stay.
    By law a company has t verify your past employment, so nothing is secret anymore, there are ways around it though.

    To tell you the truth I'm better than most new truck drivers. I went to the best truck driving school in Georgia and I received excellent bulk training and Schneider.I really could give a rat's ### what these other companies think about me. Someone will come along that will take me under their wing and be glad they hired me. Right now I'm doing well I really can't complain other than the fact that I wish I could be with my daughter more.

    Most of my company driving career, it would not have mattered at all, and I never drove for a mega, or any big trucking company. I mostly drove for construction companies and spent 99% of the nights, sometimes short ones, in my bed. It was not until I went out on my own that I spent much time away from home.

    That great truck driving school is worth about 10 cents in the real world. You haven’t even driven a year so to judge yourself that way is pretty brave.
