I've been wondering the same thing, only bad thing I've heard is they have a pretty big hard on for paper work and you CAN'T leave until it's straight. That and the last time I talked to them their family insurance is a little out of whack something to the tune of $140 bux a week.

Overall they are a good company, but disagree the wrong dispatcher and you will be in Siberia.

Last I heard (09) there freight was down by 20% or so. Passed by the Troy HQ in March this year and saw a LOT of trailers and tractors making like it was a boneyard.

I guess the economy has really hit them hard. BTW take EVERYTHING the recruiters say with a shaker of salt. Those guys were higher pressure than airplane salesman!

    Overall I give them a 6/10 rating.

I have been with Wiley for a year now. It is a good company overall, and a great company compared to some I have heard about. Wiley keeps their trucks on the road long after warranty has run out but they are fairly well maintained. Doesn't mean that you won't break down (I did yesterday). I started out as a newbie out of CDL school and was assigned a truck with 1,560,000 miles on it. It ran good and had good power but the ride was awful. I was recently assigned a newer truck (KW T600) with only 500,000 miles. The truck was filthy and it took me an entire day to clean it prior to driving. I get good miles (2500 - 3000) per week, have never refused a load and I have a very nice dispatcher. The Troy yard is a pain if you arrive in the daytime hours as you will leave your truck at the fuel terminal and will not get out of the yard until the end of the day. Unless I need maintenance or scheduled maintenance, I try to arrive in the yard after 5 p.m. and before 6 a.m. Wiley has a lot of their own freight as they have a plastic recycling business (K W Plastics) and a battery recycling business (Sanders Lead) so I haul a lot of scrap plastic and scrap batteries back to Troy. They also have a bulk division with bulk tankers. At their height they had more than 1000 tractors on the road, currently they are running about 700. We also haul a lot of paper products from the many paper mills in the south. A lot of beer loads from breweries.

Not too many complaints, and all in all I think it is a good company as far as the trucking industry is concerned.

Is that Colquitt character still there?

I used to haul out of Cantonment (big rolls of paper) every time I left the house. Used to love getting battery loads, that meant hometime was right around the corner. I got a few plastic loads, but not many.

Hell I have been thinking about getting back on there, but only if Driscoll is gone.

BTW Wiley rebuilds old tractors all the time. I have seen a T600 with a 92 frame, 99 hood, 96 cab and 98 sleeper. Had a mechanic point that out to me one time, I though it was hilarious. Apparently Wiley sends a few mechanics to KW's school every year or two.

I have heard that the newest trucks are the T660's. Are they really getting those now? I hoped they would have gone for the T700.
