Are you asking if you can bank days off, then take several days off at once?
FFE (Frozen Food Express) will pay you on your days off if you agree to answer the phone; simply put.
I remember one driver made about $850 when he took a week off.

Maybe, but I question the "week off with pay" part aside from a vacation. I never worked for a company where you could "bank" days off with pay. Possibly tall truckers tale?:biggrin_25517:

Those drivers don't have to take the pay & don't have to answer the phone or be dispatched out early.
If they agree to though, they're compensated for it.
Trucking companies are being creative in order to attract and keep drivers.
Free college tuition for the drivers family is one that US Express has and even with that drivers gripe because it's not a well known college. My answer to that is, if you don't like the college, don't use the benefit; pay the tuition yourself somewhere else.

That's crazy. College is college even if it's not well known. I'd take that deal in a heartbeat

Its legit. As far as I know not every driver with FFE gets it, just the drivers in my dedicated division.

The work is hard due to ad hoc sleeping, teaming, and loading your own trailer at pick ups. So its hard to keep drivers there. They want/need drivers to stick around due to some of the places we pick up at are tricky situations and new guys go in there and hit a bunch of stuff. Its there cash cow and we are always in a hurry. We help out with LTL stuff on the weekends too.

My biggest checks are the weeks I stay out and dont go home because I still get the home time pay plus whatever I earned that week.

But yeah a lot of guys get out there and they start loading and have second thoughts. I would rather just drive over night all night. But it feels good getting my finances in order. I got plenty of time to go solo later. They helped me get my CDL and are paying me well, all I gotta do is get up off my lazy butt a few times a day and throw some cases.

And I am lazy too. I just pretend like I'm not.
