the marine ecm part works excellent in mine, of course i put in marine injectors and a larger turbo. Have over 250k on that set up so far and mileage has almost doubled and keep the cruise on going west with very little effort. The ecm has a big effect on performance, must be properly set. Also know of people who had the same problem. I am very happy on the performance of my S-60. Wouldn't use any other application.

 

yes u can, just get the detroit wiring harness and ur on ur way. Costly swap though.

 

Come on people a 12.7 giving up to 550hp and your still complaining? Thats the same as a stock 14.6cat n we r 1.9litres larger, the 12.7 is a #### good engine but cat is great

 

It would be alot more involved than a wiring harness.There is the extra exhaust and emmission parts that work with the engine.

 

The 550 and 575 horse power ratings were 14ltr. engines not 12.7.They also had 1850 tq. ratings and the 12.7 only had up to 1650 from the factory.

From my understanding those 550 and 575hp motors were troublesome.

 

I see you are back.I have never heard of any unusual issues with the 14 ltrs. Maybe what you heard was about some of the '02 EGR engines and I believe everyone had issues with the '02 stuff for a while.The 14's were available in '99 non EGR and usually it was the Frieghtliners that got the 575hp programs.

 

I saw thousands of 12.7s at the factory and other than off road applications/marine engines never saw 550/1850 or heard of it for production in a 12.7 ltr.I would like to know the engine # and engine spec #.that is on the labels that would have been put on the rocker cover.Get me those numbers and I can find out exactly what it is.

 

it was a ecm the boss ordered i dont know where or from who but when checked wit the pro link it said 550hp@1850ftlbs torque, he use to run it on the centry he use to drive , i myself believe that it will blow the motor at any time
