Hahaha, reminds me of pulling up to a accident in a Freightliner FL70 and a Darley pumper. Had them air horn buttons on the floor. Someone stepped on it which happened a lot, but this particular time the relay melted and stuck the solenoid. Here we are about deaf pulling the passenger seats to get to all the fuse box. The state patrolman was very very impressed.

Grub,a couple of other tricks you might know that really helps getting weight transfer to the back. Also is the easiest way to get an A body to lift the front wheels. Loosen the front control arm bushing bolts,where they bolt to the frame,upper and lower,so there is no drag on the bushings at all. Then double nut them,so the bolts don't fall out. Now when you launch,the front suspension just falls away,and the car isn't lifting all that weight,till it gets to the stops.Great weight transfer trick. Put a 90-10 shock on the front,and your set. People ask me how my caruck as heavy as it is pulls the front wheels up so easy. Just this simple trick,and doesn't really cost anything. The front suspension on my Elky is completely stock except for the shocks.
Also,if you loosen the front control arm bolts,make sure the front swaybar is removed or unhooked.Last edited: Jun 23, 2019

I used a similar lift bar. Southside machine bars were very popular in the day,and worked for most. It helped,but launching with a stick,without spinning is much harder,because I don't have that torque converter cushion. I'm one of the few dinosaurs that still drag races a four speed,it's just the old school factor,an automatic would be cheaper,and easier........but more boring.
