980 beep

For owners of the Bearcat 980 that dislike the beeping sound ,I viewed a video, that all you have to do is hold in ANL/NB button for about 2 seconds and BP OFF will display and to turn it back on hold button again and BP ON will display, dont believe this is mentioned in owners manual. I have a newer 980 so dont know if this works on the older versions because the board is different and the RF gain adjustment is different too.

 

In addition, I know some of the earlier versions were coming stock with carrier levels between 2 and 3 watts, however I checked mine and it is right at 4 watts so maybe Uniden listened to feedback and loosened up a bit.
