i just applied to US Xpress and I’m very interested in the dedicated and regional positions. Does anyone know what type of freight or what specifically the accounts are for?

Stay away from the dollar anything accounts unless you wanna back into the hardest places and grueling work. And you can do better then us express.

Yeah I’m not interested in those accounts at all. That’s all Werner has for my area as well.

Tractor Supply is what USX has in that area.

Tractor Supply account wants some OTR experience, and there is a waitlist. I trained on that account, and it's good. Gets you snow experience, but also has some hard backing. I did 8 months of Dollar General, which is hard, and you can get injured easily, although backing isn't that bad, because you get really good really quickly. Also, the fleet owner for the USXI DG dispatch office in Bethel, PA is awesome. His name is Orlando. Great boss. I switched to Procter and Gamble dedicated because of physical issues, and P&G is decent for breaking up the day with mostly 4 hour runs: $35 drop and hook pay, $50 live unload plus $18/hr detention pay if the receiver takes more than 1 hour to unload (1st hour free), $50 LI pay. Need to look up com, think it's 41 or 42. 44 or 45 for DG with 90 trailer pay and 25 per stop.

I heard DG added a $1200/week true-up, not verified by me. When things go smoothly on P&G, aim for $1,400/week, pretax. Both accounts do paid vacation after one year. DG does a sign on bonus split up over the first year. Both get you home to CT weekly.

Biggest beef with US is not getting actual miles. They use weird marine fuses for their inverters and make you go to the terminal to replace them. Order them online instead and carry spares.

I miss doing DG loads to Maine. P&G sticks within about 250 miles of Tunkhannock, PA. I regret not jumping in a nice lake after a day of unloading by hand.

The worst things about DG are the people who load the trailers and how some stores don't have proper loading zones or receiving setups. If you run out of hours, though, a DG trailer let's you park overnight at just about any DG store en route.

I should add, our dispatchers for P&G dedicated check to see how far away you live. I reset in Milford, and that flies with them. Eastern CT might not fly.
